James Franco, headed to Oz?

Franco, who's got about dozens of projects in a variety of formats already in the works, is in early talks to take on the lead role in Sam Raimi/Disney's Oz, The Great and Powerful.

Previous actors who were up for the role include Robert Downey Jr. and Johnny Depp, who officially passed on the project last week.

If cast in the role, Franco would play "a young illusionist with a grandiose attitude who is forced to flee a traveling circus. His hot air balloon is swept up by a tornado to the land of Oz, which is run by two magical wicked witches."

Leighton Meester was spotted filming scenes in front of the Carlyle Hotel on Madison Avenue in NYC for an upcoming episode of Gossip Girl. I wonder who's that lady hanging on to Louie's arm? His mother perhaps?

Charlie's Angels 2.0!

Miami is covered in angel dust this week as the ladies of the new Charlie Angel's reboot are in town filming their first episode of the series. Minka Kelly, Rachael Taylor and Annie Ilonzeh took to the water to shoot a boat scene yesterday. Obviously, the boat part didn't last long!

I Am Number 4 :>

A new movie will hit the theaters starring Alex Pettyfer and Dianna Agron entitled I Am Number 4. It will be produced by Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg and directed by D.J. Caruso.

Here's the plot:
Nine infant aliens, who closely resemble humans, flee their home planet, Lorien, to hide on Earth. An invading species, the Mogadorians, have destroyed their planet, and followed them to Earth to hunt them down. Each of the nine aliens is given a guardian and will develop superhuman powers as they become adults. They are each assigned a number. These last children of Lorien can only be killed in the sequence of their numbers. Numbers One, Two, and Three have been killed so far.

Number Four (Alex Pettyfer), also named John Smith, moves to Paradise, Ohio, disguised as an American high school student.He makes a friend, Sarah Hart (Dianna Agron), a sweet Midwestern girl who is a photographer. After being on the run his whole life, Number Four falls in love and now has something to stand up and fight for.

The Vow is upcoming drama romance film starring Rachel McAdams AND Channing Tatum! The stars are a combi of "The Notebook" and "Dear John", two waterworks-inducing films that were based on the novels written by Nicholas Sparks.

The film goes like this:

A newlywed couple recovers from a car accident that puts the wife in a coma. Waking up with severe memory loss, her husband endeavors to win her heart again.

It will show on February 12, 2012 in the US, which means it will probably be out April here in the Philippines :'(
